Designed with Plus Performance technology, Rage’s Trypan +P 1.75” is tough, accurate, and kills like crazy.

I’ve spilt a lot of blood with Rage Broadheads, mostly OG two-blade models and any that bear the “Hypodermic” name. Some of the most accurate and down right devastating broadheads I’ve used are of the Rage lineage. Though buzz surrounds Rage’s new-for-2026 2 Blade NC Cut-On-Contact, I wouldn’t ignore the Black Series Trypan +P 1.75”. This broadhead is a proven killer, an excellent turkey broadhead, and one you can use on almost any big-game animal.
For me, a 1.75-inch cutting diameter is ideal. I’ve shot 2-inch-cut diameter heads that lacked penetration on heavy-boned big-game animals like elk. Some, not all, 1.5-inch cut heads provide scant blood trails after a 12-ring hit. For me, a 1.75-inch cut-diameter broadhead is a lot like a 33-inch axle-to-axle compound bow: it hits a sweet spot.

I tested and killed a lot of turkeys with Rage’s original 2-inch-cut Trypan. My problem with the broadheads was the three-petal collar system. The collars were brittle and often broke, taking an arrow out of or putting it back into a quiver. When the collar broke, the broadhead had to be removed. Next, the collar needed removed, and a replacement collar added. If you didn’t have replacement collars with you in the field, the broadhead was nothing more than a paperweight.
While I don’t love O-rings or collars, Rage has done its due diligence and solved a problem. The Trypan +P 1.75” comes with six collars, three for crossbows (red) and three for vertical bows (gray). Each collar has six petals. The new collars are more durable, the petals are stout, and if you break a petal, you can rotate the collar 120-degrees, find a new petal, and the dual .039-inch thick 420 SS blades will remain closed in flight. The blades are razor sharp, and combined with the needle-point sharp Hypodermic Tip and Titanium Tough ferrule, the Trypan +P 1.75″ is a killing machine. The sleek, slim design and rear-deploy blades tuck into the ferrule slot to ensure precision downrange accuracy. I’ve harvested turkey, whitetail, a bear, and a pronghorn with the Trypan +P 1.75″. The blood trails have been heavy, and the tracking jobs were short.

Rage’s Trypan +P 1.75″ proved too much for the lungs of this whitetail. The blood trail was remarkable, and chunks of lung fell from the oversized hole.
+P stands for Plus Performance. I’ve also read and listened to people refer to it as Plus Penetration. Either way, +P is good, and there’s a noticeable difference between Rage heads—Hypodermic and Trypan that bear the +P brand—and those that don’t. Rage broadheads that bear the +P name have proven ultra-reliable in the field. They are durable, sharp, penetrate like crazy, and most importantly, do what every bowhunter needs their broadhead to do: It’s JOB! Broadheads with +P technology enhance flight stability and accuracy. I’ve tested the Black Series Trypan +P 1.75” to 120 yards. At 70 yards, the broadheads hit spot-on with field points, and at 120 yards, my three-arrow Trypan group was 1 inch low and 1.5 inches right of my field tips.

This three-arrow Easton 5.0 group was shot from 52 yards with two Trypan +Ps and one field point. Notice the single broken nock on the top field-point arrow.
If you’re looking for an excellent quiver-filler that will work on everything from turkey to elk, Rage’s Black Series Trypan +P 1.75” is an excellent choice.
